LibroPlayer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. Everything stays on your devices.
Overview
LibroPlayer is an audiobook player for Android and desktop. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it stays, and what it never does.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No account or registration is required
- No analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry is sent anywhere
- No advertising identifiers are accessed or shared
- No usage data leaves your device
Data Stored Locally
LibroPlayer stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Playback position and progress for each audiobook
- Playback speed preferences
- Library folder paths you have granted access to
- A randomly generated device ID used solely for LAN sync pairing
This data never leaves your device except as described in the LAN Sync section below.
LAN Sync
LibroPlayer can sync playback position between your Android device and desktop app over your local network (LAN). When sync is active:
- Playback position, speed, book ID, and device ID are exchanged directly between your devices over Wi-Fi
- This traffic never passes through any external server or the internet
- Sync is opt-in and requires manual QR code pairing
- You can disconnect at any time from the Settings screen
Audio Files
LibroPlayer reads audio files from folders you choose. These files are never uploaded, indexed externally, or shared. All metadata (title, duration, chapters) is read locally and stays on your device.
Permissions (Android)
- Storage / Media — to read audiobook files from your device
- Local Network — to discover and communicate with the desktop app over LAN
- Camera — only if you initiate QR code pairing; not used otherwise
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. We will not make changes that introduce data collection without clear notice.
